Bernice Hart Elementary is a community of learners in Northeast Austin. Hart empowers children to contribute to their communities through collaboration, negotiation, and shared goals. Civic engagement is a key part of the school named for Bernice Hart, a long-time educator, civil rights champion, and community leader. Our school offers a world of opportunities including fine arts, Dual Language, social and emotional learning, and tuition-free after-school programming. We are proud to be an AVID College Readiness campus and strive to focus on learning through writing. Hart is part of the Northeast Early College High School family of schools, which offers students the opportunity to earn college credit and graduate with an associate degree. We want our students to reach for the moon and land among the stars in everything they do at Hart!
