Campus Architectural Team

CAT Information

Campus Architectural Teams, or CATs, are established for each major construction and modernization project to ensure that design and construction decisions fulfill the objective of providing a modernized learning environment that supports students within the framework of the project schedule and budget.

Teams typically meet bi-weekly to monthly for the first six to twelve months of the project, and then less frequently once the school is under construction. Meetings will typically last 90-120 minutes and will be conducted in-person or virtual, depending on the topic and meeting activity. Teams generally include 10-15 members from the school community including:

  • School Principal
  • School Instructional Staff
  • School Support Staff
  • Students (for middle and high school projects)
  • Parents (including one representative from the Campus Advisory Council)
  • Community Members

Also supporting the team are:

  • Project Design Team 
  • Project Contractor
  • Implementation and Communications Team
  • Project Manager
  • Communications Consultant
  • Other AISD Departments and Public Entities
