Community Meeting Update

Anderson High School’s project team hosted an information table at the Back to School Night event held on Monday, August 26, 2024.

  • Families visiting the project team's table were presented with information about the campus modernization, which included a site plan and draft renderings of the athletics addition, secure entry vestibule and competition gym.
  • Community members and families were able to ask the project team questions about the modernization and provide any feedback on the items that they were shown. The designs pictured above are located within the presentation.

Economic Opportunity Office (EOO)

Austin ISD's Economic Opportunity Office is committed to advancing equity in contracting, ensuring HUB firms can compete fairly and participate in construction-related, bond-funded projects. The Economic Opportunity Office’s supplier diversity program (measured through HUB goals) is a core business strategy for the district, formally adopted by the trustees in August 2016. A HUB is a business that is 51% owned, managed, and controlled by a minority or woman — groups that are historically underrepresented in architecture, construction and other professional services. Austin ISD supports one of the most comprehensive public school supplier diversity programs in the nation, providing tools for minority- and women-owned businesses to do business with the district.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a top priority for all projects implemented through the 2022 Bond. The standard for all full modernization projects will be to reach Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) certifications.
